About the Instructor

Introduction

Instructor Fran Tai - Kumon instructor for San Mateo for over 19 years

Being a former Kumon student myself, I can relate to my students on a personal level. As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement.  I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed. I believe in active instructor/parent communication to help support each student reach their fullest learning potential.

Biography and Background

Fran Tai - Center Instructor/Director

Hi! I’m Fran – the instructor for the Kumon Math and Reading Center of San Mateo location! I’m passionate about helping all students reach their fullest learning potential.

Over the past 19 years, it has been a joy to watch countless students grow and gain confidence in math and reading. With my extensive knowledge of the program, I customize my student’s lesson plans on a weekly basis, adjusting to their needs.

As a former Kumon student, myself, I remember what it was like going through the program. I make it a point to communicate regularly with my students and parents on their progress and why each skill is important for their development. I take a very hands-on approach to instruction.

My staff and I try our best to create a positive and welcoming learning environment by being approachable and helpful to all our students. I look forward to welcoming you and your child to Kumon! Please, join me in making the greatest investment there is: your child’s future!
