About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Girisha Sonawane

Girisha Sonawane received her Master of Laws in Criminology. Prior to opening the Kumon Math and Reading Center of San Ramon, Girisha worked as an Human Resources manager at two IT companies for over 2 years.

The motivation to become a Kumon Instructor came from her own children’s Kumon experience. After several years of Kumon study, Girisha was very impressed by her son and daughter's progress in math and reading. This experience made her a believer in the Kumon Method to not only benefit a student’s basic skills development, but also lifelong learning skills.

After spending time with her kids on Kumon exercises and enjoying their success in math and reading, Girisha came to realize that it would be even more fun and enjoyable to turn helping and educating children into a career of her own.
