My name is Joyce Coffey. I am a proud certified Kumon Instructor with 23 years of experience. I was first introduced to Kumon in 1992 when my children enrolled in the program. I became a Centre Assistant in 1993 and eventually opened my own Kumon Centre in November of 1997. I have been privileged to guide thousands of students to reach their goals over the last 20 plus years.

I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement.

I have had the wonderful opportunity of working with thousands of students over the past 20 years, and I still get goosebumps when parents and students begin to feel confident from the initial "comfortable starting point," a key feature in the Kumon program.

Watching my children develop their study skills, improve their math and reading abilities, and increase their self-confidence inspired me to devote my time to share the Kumon Method to others. My motivation to work to a high standard continues by watching students conquer and master the basics. This foundation enables the student to tackle new concepts with confidence and achieve more than they originally thought they could.

I have continued to grow and learn throughout the years through my involvement in many study groups and projects. In addition to monitoring classroom assignments, I create an at-home study plan emphasizing the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students with their self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant and motivated to learn more on their own. Many of my students have achieved 95% or higher on their high school Math and English diploma exams. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.
