Testimonial

Dakota, 4th grade

Battle

Dakota has been a Kumon student for last three years.

Dakota has greatly benefited from the Kumon Program. Because she had such a deep understanding of mathematical and reading concepts, we saw increased confidence, excellent grades, high standardized test scores, often scoring at high school levels. She was always exposed to material in Kumon before it was ever introduced in class. A highlight of her school year was being able to help others understand division when it was introduced in the classroom.

The Kumon staff kept us abreast of Dakota’s progress and was very encouraging. Even when we (the parents) struggled to get Dakota to do the homework, the Kumon staff always reminded us just how well versed she really was. In addition to being encouraging and patient, the center is in nice location and it is always great talking to other parents.

Thank you for the contribution you've made to Dakota’s education.

- LaTasha (mother)

Brennen

I wanted to let you know that Brennen took the ACT in February 2017 and earned a score of 32!!! I truly feel that you and Kumon are a major reason for Brennen's academic successes! I hope you and your family are doing well!! Thank you!!

TJ

I want to thank you and everybody at the center for working with TJ over the past year or so. His reading, comprehension, and study habits have greatly improved, along with this grades/ standardized test scores.  This has been a very positive experience for us.  I truly cannot thank you and your staff enough.

Thanks again,
Courtney P.

Thomas

I’d like to share Thomas was appointed for US Naval Academy and West Point, too. And after much thought, he decided to accept US Navy on April 30. You are always remembered with special regards in my heart. You had a lot of faith in him just like I had. He wanted to give you a special thank you.

Sarah & Alex

Our daughter, Sarah, is excelling at Western Illinois University.  She was the only freshman in her dorm that she knows of to be placed in sophomore math.  She helps tutor the freshman who are in basic math.

Our son is a junior at JCA in honors algebra.  Class started with 31 and down to 8 students.  He currently is the only student passing with an A and will compete on math team soon. He is looking toward actuarial science at U of I.

When his teacher recently asked us where and when he learned "this” math, Alex said, “A long time ago at Kumon. Whatever I learned there, I’ll never forgot!”

Please forward my email to any parent.   So many parents I know are paying for useless math tutoring, but my kids can tutor others in math.

Kumon keeps you out in front and ahead of schedule.  That's how I describe it to others. If I had to do it all over again, Ms. Lovina, I would advise any parent to place their children in public school and Kumon math and reading.   Can't thank you enough!

~ Tammy M.

Ben, College (former student, nearly 2 years)

You exceeded all my expectations by taking the time to evaluate Ben’s level of comprehension and creating a plan to get him where he needed to be (and should have been) to succeed.

All is going great with Ben (all A's with Algebra II as his best subject). I couldn't be happier with his progress which we owe in large part to you and the folks at your Kumon Center. I have recommended this Center to all our friends. Please accept our gratitude for everything you were able to do for Ben.

Thank you from a very grateful father.

- Dave (father)

Ryan

Thank you for giving the tools needed for Ryan to improve. I love the Kumon experience, the daily work, how fast the curriculum moves, and yet, how well you monitor his progress. I feel he has gained a lot and I am very happy with the program. I would definitely recommend to friends. Thanks again for everything.

Luke, 6th grade

Lovina, I wish to thank you personally because your supportive, yet no-nonsense expectations are communicated and met - this approach has significantly helped Luke learn similar discipline at home and school.

As you know, it's been challenging at times, but he's starting to see the benefits of his hard work.

He received a "rock star" note yesterday on his math work at school and his teacher has commented to him how good his math is - just a sign of things to come. We very much appreciate your efforts; without the solid structure provided by you, this would be a very difficult process at home for us.

I only wish we had found you sooner.

- Darlene (mom), 4 months into Kumon

We've seen such an amazing transformation in Luke and his capabilities and confidence over the past two years. We both recognize how well the Kumon program works and are so very happy with your team's commitment to education and methods that work.

We are also happy to see vast improvements with Luke's school compared to where we began a few years ago. Your methods and your staff really seem to care and they continue to challenge Luke. We feel that Luke has finally been given the tools to continue to improve, learn and be personally responsible. Luke exudes a new found confidence in school, continues to get "A" grades in virtually every area. Thank You so much.

- Shane (dad), 2.5 years into Kumon

Alex, High School (former student, 4+ years)

Alex had a good first semester in high school and made the A honor roll with four out of six honors/accelerated classes.

He was also just accepted into a very competitive summer program at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire. Thanks for everything.

This could not have happened without his years of Kumon Math & Reading study at your Center and Alex agrees!

- Susan (mother)

Javier

Your center has helped so much since July of last year 2016.  I wish we had known of your center sooner.

Sincerely,
Rita E.

Steven, 7th grade - Krissy, 5th grade - Lisa, 4th grade - Stephenie 8th grade

Kumon has provided us a structure and peace of mind. With the challenges of Common Core entering our schools, this program provides straight-forward support to parents, building a real foundation for our children to work from. Kumon uses practices that reinforce the traditional methods of learning, therefore, providing the parents with the security that our children are better prepared. It is a tried curriculum that is easily followed with measured results.

Ms. Lovina has been helpful from day one. She is passionate about what she does and she is one of the top reasons why we choose the Kumon program for all our 4 kids.

In 2012, our son, Steven, was struggling in 4th grade in all areas and we needed to find him help. After looking at several programs, we felt that Kumon addressed multiple areas, not just focusing on one subject or identified problem. Kumon offered the ability to determine where our son was academically and a plan to move him forward all the while building his confidence along with his knowledge.

Now in 6th grade, Steven has a different outlook on school and has made the Second Quarter Honor Roll. Just yesterday, he came home with his third quarter progress report as happy as can be with his grades and is now trying even harder to make all A’s. This is a product of Kumon discipline that he receives at the Center and at home.

Ms. Lovina has continually developed ways to help Steven succeed despite his mild ADD, all the while keeping us informed and in-charge of his progress.

Seeing the success in our son, we enrolled our three daughters a year later, in 2013, in the Math program.

Our oldest daughter, Stephanie, although a straight A student in Math, sees the program as a challenge, setting a goal to achieve the Center's scholarship track. The program also gave her the confidence to join the School’s Math Team where she achieved many of her objectives.

Our youngest daughter, Lisa also sees this as a challenge which is a blessing as she sees school as easy. Being 8, this is a great opportunity to learn study skills and focus, which she will use through her life.

Last, but not the least, Krissy, our 10 year old, really demonstrates all that Kumon has to offer. Kumon has allowed Krissy to learn at her own pace, yet she is challenged not only by the curriculum, but by her siblings’ advancements. For Krissy, the Kumon promise of skill, focus and independent learning has already crossed over into every area of her life.

Ms. Lovina is always on top of where each of our children are within the program and quick to provide insight/direction for each, should they need it. She is insightful not only as our Kumon instructor but also as a parent which is an invaluable resource.

Mr. Alok and Ms. Lovina are the probably the biggest reason why Kumon is such a success for us.

Participation in the Kumon Program has given our four children such a huge edge up and we believe that will continue to be the case in the near and distant future.

Brody, 3rd grade

I wanted to share with you an exciting turning point for Brody. He is reading books on his own now. He was hesitant to even try reading books. Last week, at bedtime he asked to read the book to Gavin. Of course, I handed it over and he did a wonderful job. This is so exciting to me!

Sixth months ago he did not know all of his letter sounds; and now, he is confident and able to read short stories. I am so happy we joined the Kumon family. He will be ready for 1st grade in a few short weeks!  Thanks so much for everything.

- Angela (mom), 6 months into Kumon

Brody's confidence today in 2nd grade at school, knows no bounds, in everything that he does. Thank You!

- Jeff (dad), 15 months into Kumon

Nicholas, 3rd grade

NickAllocco

Since starting at this Kumon Center in summer, my son has shown improvements in focusing on his schoolwork and completing tasks. His confidence has soared. My son went from having no confidence and minimal understanding of basics to having many moments of "Yes, I got this!" His smile, when he understands something, is proof that Kumon is helping him and that I made the right decision.

I felt that my son did not have a strong knowledge base foundation which to build his skills upon. He needed more assistance and time to learn the foundation skills than his current school was allowing.

In summer, we had just switched to a new school. At my son's new school, I had heard wonderful things about this Center from parents who had been in similar situations.

His teacher at his new school now, is just amazed at how well he is picking up the information he is learning and the progress he has made.

Kumon has been the answer for my son. There are not enough words to express how much I value Ms. Lovina and what her Kumon Center has done for Nicholas. Kumon and Ms. Lovina have helped Nicholas build a solid foundation, given him confidence and the willingness to help others.

Ms. Lovina informs the child and the parents of the process, expectations, any changes needed and why. I am impressed by how much time and effort Ms. Lovina gives to her students. She is easily accessible when questions arise.

Every chance I get, I say positive things and recommend Kumon to parents who have kids struggling with schoolwork.

Lexie (college), former Kumon student, 4.5 years

I have said this, I don't know how many times in the past 5 years but once again, I would like to say thank you for all the help, understanding and support you have shown Lexie for the many years she has been your Kumon student.

You have seen her grow up since April 2008. Lexie has become a better student, a stronger person, ready for whatever challenges might come her way, in huge part due to her long term association with you and her Kumon Center. You are her role model in more ways than you'd ever know.

On a very happy note, Lexie has been accepted at Elmhurst College for the Fall term. I see many great things in Lexie's future. Thank you for all you have done. And we are counting on you to help her brother do the same.

- Tina (mother)

Mom told us recently that in her freshman year at college starting Fall, Lexie aced her college Statistics course that required Mathematics and a detailed written report, requiring extensive independent research. She credits it all to her independent study skills developed due to her years of Kumon study in Math and Reading. In her sophomore year starting Fall, Lexie will be studying in Paris, France.

Megan

Thank you so much for all your help in making Megan a better student and your help in allying our frustrations and fears when she was just starting. :) We couldn't have done this without your gentle push and reassuring words. Your staff is great in explaining things to her when we were at our wit's end. Thank you so very much!

Alexa

Your team has helped Alexa tremendously in Math. For the first time in these many years, she saw herself as good as the others. Her confidence has soared. She wanted to hide from Math class in school. She is now thinking of an engineering career and is no longer afraid of math quiz or tests. Kumon Math education as delivered by you and your staff has prepared her for 10th grade like nothing else could… and in just one year. And now for your Kumon Assistants: you have some of the best brightest and most compassionate young people who went out of their way to support Alexa when the going was rough for us. God bless them. Thank You.
~ Michelle

Rishi

Rishi graduated high school last week! He said, "Lovina is definitely instrumental in my success in high school. She taught me Math. And she taught me to never ever quit.”
~ Rishi’s parents

Tommy Z.

I just want to say thank you for everything you do and your assistants have done for us.
If there is anything we can ever do to show our gratitude please let us know. Thank you!
