About the Instructor

Introduction

Thank you for considering Kumon for your child’s supplemental education. Like many of you, I always want the best for my child. I have known about the Kumon Method for many years and have been a strong believer, and a Kumon Instructor for almost 20 years.

Kumon, being one of the most effective approaches to help children master the solid academic foundations, helps to develop a positive study attitude and good time management skills. Kumon is trusted by millions of parents around the world. Studying Kumon is one of the top priorities for my child. I found the opportunity of becoming a Kumon Instructor while I was searching for a Kumon Center for my child. I am excited about this great opportunity because I always have the passion to help others realize and achieve their full potential.

Biography and Background

I am Lydia Leong, Instructor of the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Cumming - South. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and another Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology. My education in the field of psychology has enabled me to better understand the nature of human individuals and the process of individual learning and development. Before joining the Kumon family in 2004, I had nearly 16 years of professional experience working with university students and employees in organizations, helping them adjust to many aspects in life and improve performances. I also taught many classes in psychology theories to college students.

My experience with young adults and employees in the corporate world made me realize the importance of building strong foundations. Many of them were struggling with their class work or having a hard time to learn new job skills because their fundamentals were not mastered. This causes a lot of frustrations and disappointments in life. I wish to use my Kumon knowledge to help children work toward academic success and eventually, a smooth transition into higher education and adult careers.
