Danesh Thananathan
2 years into the program Danesh is on the honor roll for math and reading. When asked about Kumon, this is what he had to say "I like Kumon because it teaches me solution strategies and helps me on math and reading. I'm really good at adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing." Apart from Kumon, Danesh loves speed skating and has won medals for his team Richmond Rockets. He wants to be an astronaut when he grows up so that he can be the first to land on Mars.
Eve Tsou: Math Program Completer
As a completer of the math program Eve has proven to be a great role model for students in the South Delta centre. Eve came to Kumon 7 years ago for enrichment in math and has been a consistent honor roll student ever since. She gives credit to Kumon for placing her a grade ahead in math which has allowed her to advance in her academic aspirations.
Eve has participated in the Pascal and Euclid Math contests acheiving certifcates of distinction in both. She now gives back to the Kumon community by working in the centre as assistant to the instructor.
Luna Kurokawa
Luna started Kumon at the age of 4. Being an ESL student, her goal was to become confident and fluent in English (reading and writing). 2 years into the program, Luna has mastered reading and math and is on the honour roll. This is a huge achievement for someone of her age. Luna has grown into an independent and self-sufficient learner and is able to lead in her class. Luna enjoys art, ice skating, singing and dancing and aspires to help the children in Children's Hospital in the future.
