Instructor Begley is a former probation officer, Army veteran, and father of four. He is a native Michigander transplanted to Virginia in 2001 by way of two Army tours. He holds a bachelor's degree in Administration of Criminal Justice and a master's degree in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University. He has taught criminal justice, court process, juvenile justice, and graduate level criminology at Phoenix University. For personal enrichment, Instructor Begley has studied history at the City College of Chicago and University of Maryland, English literature at the University of Detroit, and World literature at George Mason University.
His passion, however, lies in pursuits that support, protect, and enrich the community. This is the common thread that followed him through the Army, counterintelligence with the federal government, adolescent residential counseling, and juvenile probation casework: each one in support of his country and local community. Instructor Begley believes the Kumon method is one more pillar to better the community by improving the confidence, ability, and performance of young learners.
As you can tell by this brief background, he is also a supporter in the Oxford comma.
