My name is Susan Lee, and I am a mother who has been sending my daughter to Kumon since 2015. From birth, my daughter faced challenges with muscle weakness, necessitating both speech therapy and physical therapy right from the beginning. Despite having a background in nursing, I devoted the past 13 years to caring for my daughter, providing speech and physical therapy alongside the support of Kumon for alphabet and number skills.
Even during camping trips, we ensured to complete Kumon in the morning before starting our day. It became a daily routine, even at Disneyland, where completing Kumon marked the beginning of our daily activities. There were times when my daughter, due to her physical limitations, couldn't interact with peers as much, but together we spent quality time doing Kumon. The ultimate goal in raising my daughter, who cannot walk and was expected to have difficulty with numbers, is to enable her to live independently.
Having experienced the impact of being a speech therapist for my daughter and witnessing the potential that children possess, especially those facing health challenges, I recognize the significance of Kumon's method. Kumon goes beyond English and math, fostering independent learning. By acquiring rational life skills through English and math, children can further apply this approach to self-learn various subjects, contributing to their growth as independent individuals and making a positive impact on the community.
I am grateful for the validated Kumon method, which has brought joy in witnessing healthy and intelligent children growing day by day. It allows me to look forward to each day with anticipation, knowing that I am contributing to a greater goal of fostering independent, capable individuals in our community.
Thank you for providing such a meaningful platform through the Kumon method.
Sincerely,
Susan Lee
