About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

About Ms. Charina!
charina

My name is Charina, and I am the Instructor of Kumon of Summerlin-Desert Shores. My Kumon journey began over 15 years ago as a Lead Assistant at another Kumon Center. After working at the center for some time, I realized that this is my passion – helping kids. This experience has made me realize how much I loved working with kids and how rewarding it is to know that I have contributed to my student’s success.

My niece, for example, started in the program when she was 4 years old. When they moved here from another state, it was already too late for her to enroll in preschool because all the classes were full. I encouraged my sister to enroll her daughter in Kumon since she could not attend school. Kumon has helped my niece tremendously – she’s ahead of her grade level now. She learned how to read because of Kumon, and she loves it. She is only one of the many Kumon students in the past that I know have succeeded because of the program, which is why I truly believe in the Kumon Method. I have a one-year-old daughter now, who will be another future Kumon Student (and hopefully a program completer). I cannot wait to see how far she’ll go.

As an Instructor, I will do my best to help your child achieve their full potential and more so that they can be successful in whatever career or journey they take in the future.
