About the Instructor

The Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Surrey-White Rock opened in 1990 and has grown exponentially in the years following. Our team of instructional staff has many years of combined experience, and we are proud to have helped thousands of students within the community to achieve their educational goals and go onto great academic success. In addition, we hold the distinction of having the youngest Reading Program Completer in all of Canada.

My name is Shanker and I am the instructor at the Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Surrey - White Rock. I would like to help assist your children to reach their true potential. I strongly believe that children are the future and that they must have the best platform for learning, to be successful in their academic journey. 

In addition to my extensive training as a Kumon instructor, my academic credentials include a post graduation in hospitality management. I have over 25 years of work experience in international business management and have been a corporate mentor, trainer and have groomed many team members to attain skills and strive for excellence. I bring all my experience and training to help and guide your children through their work and create a customized at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments. I am excited to assist your children with their academic enrichment through the Kumon Math and Reading programs. 

When I am not grooming young minds, I enjoy playing both tennis and squash or spending time outdoors with my family and my pet retriever.
