About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional Kumon Instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Gandhi

My name is Gandhi Dorairaj and I have been the Instructor at the Kumon Centre of Scarborough-Kennedy Ellesmere for over a decade. I have my Master's in Engineering (Instrumentation) and bachelor's in Electronics and Communication. I took up teaching as my career and taught Mathematics and Electronics to a wide range of students. My passion for Math and helping students in the community urged me to explore different opportunities. I was inspired by Kumon’s beliefs and philosophies and in January 2008, I decided to bring the Kumon Method to children in the Scarborough area by becoming an Instructor.

At Kumon Kennedy Ellesmere we are committed to developing self motivated-learners with strong academic abilities, creativity and quick thinking through uncompromised, personalized and quality instruction using the valuable Kumon Method. We believe that students such as these will have the abilities necessary to meet the demands of the future and make a positive impact on the world.

In a nutshell, this is what KUMON means to me:

Know your students and understand their needs.
Unfold the hidden potential in every child.
Motivate and encourage your students.
Observe students in class while they are working.
Nurture students to become self-motivated learners.
