My name is Carol Irish and I would like to introduce myself. I am the owner of the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Tacoma-North End, and have been the owner since July 2016. Prior to purchasing the business, I had been the Main Assistant/Manager since 2012 and have been working for this Kumon location since March 2010. The previous owner opened this Kumon center in June 2008 and it has been a successful, main-stay, safe, comfortable learning environment for all students of Tacoma and it’s surrounding areas.
Kumon has been a part of my life for over 10 years now and will most likely be a part of my life until the day I die. That is how strongly I feel this company’s program is successful in creating smart, independent, advanced masters of math and or reading. Just in the year 2020, during the Corona Pandemic, I've nurtured and pushed two of my students to complete the entire math program, one being a Junior and the other a Sophomore in High School. The math program culminates with College Level Calculus and Mathematical concepts, which shows true mastery and dedication of these two students. With my hard work and more students hard work, I can only imagine how many more students can accomplish this in the years to come.
As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.
