About the Instructor

Introduction

Who am I?

I’m Anita Ajay, the business owner & Certified Instructor of the Kumon Math & Reading Center of Palma Ceia.

Aside from being a Kumon Instructor, I’ve been an avid fitness enthusiast for as long as I can remember, dabbling in everything from running and Zumba to weight training and CrossFit! My journey in fitness has taught me powerful lessons about discipline, resilience, and pushing limits—qualities I believe are at the heart of the Kumon Method too. Just as I show up at the gym ready to tackle the next challenge, I encourage my students to show up ready to tackle theirs.

While I’m new to this area, my Kumon journey has been long and fulfilling. I first opened a center in Princeton, NJ, where I had the joy of leading for 13 years. Since moving here, I’ve been thrilled to take over the Kumon of Palma Ceia and bring my experience to this amazing community. Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked with over 4,000 students, helping them grow not only academically but also personally, watching them develop discipline, willpower, and a belief in their own potential.

My dedicated team and I strive to create an environment that nurtures each child, helping them become confident, well-rounded individuals who are motivated from within. Our mission is to instill positive habits and values that set students up for success, not just in school, but in life!

Now, a little backstory: I earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science and spent years in corporate America before discovering my true passion for Kumon. In 2008, my husband and I enrolled our then 3-year-old daughter in Kumon, and I was immediately captivated by Kumon’s self-learning approach. By 2009, I decided to leave my corporate career and dedicate myself to Kumon full-time. It’s been a family affair ever since—our two kids both completed the full dual program, and I know firsthand what it takes to balance Kumon with everything else.

The absolute best part of being a Kumon Instructor? Those moments when a student runs up to me, bursting with pride and saying, “YES! I DID IT!” Those smiles make everything worthwhile.

Your kids are smart, let’s work together to make them smarter!
