Every day in classrooms across America, teachers are responsible for countless “aha” moments. These flashes of understanding in students’ eyes are precious because as they accumulate, they become knowledge that lasts a lifetime. In the same way, teaching is a thousand acts of thoughtful instruction, guidance and encouragement that build upon each other to shape students and citizens of the world. - Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation
The statement above is one of my favorites and sums it all up for me. I have always had a passion for teaching! It is something that I enjoy in abundance and gives me a sense of fulfillment to see children succeed. I love watching children grow and mature a well as assisting them when they falter and make mistakes as it is a part of learning. I have been working closely with children for years and have witnessed the benefits of Kumon, as a parent and a teacher. I have worked at a Kumon Center in the past, and understand the developmental advantages of the curriculum. Personally as a parent I see the transformation in my children with their confidence and ability to learn, grasp new concepts and succeed. I hold a masters in education from the University of Hartford and I am an AMI certified Montessori teacher. My understanding of the Kumon ideologies makes me proud to be a part of Kumon. Our team at the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Tracy - South, will do its best to support, encourage, and inspire children to succeed.
