About the Instructor

Introduction

My Bio

My name is Chris and I have been involved with Kumon for over 20 years! I am proud to know all of my students and I always put in the effort needed to help my students succeed. I enjoy working with students in both math and English, but I hope my students learn to love learning. When I was younger, I believed that if students excelled in their math or English classes then they would eventually succeed, which is partially true. In reality, students need to be able to learn consistently and independently regardless of the subject. I hope that I can teach students that it is OK to not do well on something, it is OK not to understand a subject at first because that is the beginning of learning. Students will learn that if they keep putting their effort into learning something new, they will eventually succeed. My goal is to help students develop this learning attitude where they can strive to put work into something and become successful.

As a father of a 3 year old and 1 year old, my only goal is for my kids to be happy. I can buy them things that I did not have when I was a kid, but I know that these are temporary things. I want to give my children the skills that I did not learn as a child and I hope that they will achieve more than I achieve. I hope to pass this learning attitude to not just my children, but to all my students as well.

I am always happy to talk to parents and students about any concerns they may have about Kumon or about education in general. I look forward to meeting you soon!
