About the Instructor

Kumon believes in helping every child succeed. As a trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I have a Masters in Engineering and many years of experience as a Kumon Instructor. 

I create at-home study plans in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. 

I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

How long have you been an instructor?
18 Years and still going strong!

What did you do before Kumon? 
Before my life in Kumon I worked in the Telecom Industry focusing on Manufacturing. The Telecom industry is a global system that helps keep us connected all over the word through complex networks, telephones, mobile phones, and the internet.  It was nice helping people connect with their families or do business with anyone all over the world, regardless of where their locations were.

Why did you choose to become a Kumon Instructor? 
I enrolled my daughter in Kumon at the age of 4 and I was so impressed with the improvement she was making in her learning.  She is now a Graduate student of Engineering at NJIT.  Her success inspired me to open my own Kumon Center so I could have the opportunity to help other students succeed.
 
What is your favorite thing about being a Kumon Instructor?
I love meeting new students, but my favorite thing is seeing the smile on my students' faces.  When they conquer a new concept or pass a new level, they are genuinely proud of themselves.  The self confidence that grows in each one of them is what makes my job truly enjoyable.
 
Do you have any hobbies?
I enjoy working out and swimming.  I’m also an active Ping-Pong player.   

What it is an interesting fact about yourself that you would like to share?
I like to travel to different places and explore their culture.  I love food from different ethnicities and if you recommend it- I will try it!
