About the Instructor

As an extensively trained and certified professional Kumon Instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

My name is Anju Devgan and I am the Instructor at the Kumon Math & Reading Centre of Waterloo  - North. I look forward to meeting you and your children and developing an individual studyplan for them.

Educational and Professional Background:

I have a Bachelor's degree in Science with specialization in Physics and a post graduate MS degree with specialization in Electronics.

I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education(B.Ed) along with Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) certification. Professionally, I have varied experience of working in an under graduate college to working in a school

 

The Kumon program was something that attracted me as a school of thought in line with my own educational philosophies and beliefs.

My own child has benefited enormously from the Kumon program and  thus is excelling  in the academic field. This made me realize the value of the Kumon program and how great it would be to be able to offer this program to other children and motivated me to become a Kumon Instructor. I enjoy the challenge of working with children of all ages. It's exciting to see them grow and progress and witness the confidence that they show as they master each new skill.

 

My work with youth and children has convinced me that they have untapped potential. At my Centre I constantly strive to provide them with a learning environment that challenges and inspires them to do their best.

Kumon Instructors are trained and certified through a comprehensive system which ensures that they offer the best in Kumon instruction to each student. Homework and class work are carefully assessed for speed and accuracy to maintain the right level of challenge and to ensure that mastery is attained as each new skill is introduced. 

As a Kumon Instructor, I receive ongoing training to help me instruct the children so they can truly benefit from the program.  This ongoing professional development focuses on children's stages of growth, worksheet development and changes, centre management as well as a myriad of other things that I need to know to run an effective Kumon Math and Reading Program.
