Vedha
Vedha started Kumon Math and Reading four years ago at my center. When I first met Vedha, she was very shy. Over the years, I have seen Vedha progress both in Math and Reading, and her confidence has gone up. She is now in the 3rd grade but is working on 7th grade Math and Reading material. Vedha has been awarded the G by 5th Grade award by Kumon in both subjects while still in 3rd grade. She has also been accepted in the Gifted and Talented class at school. Ava G: A Shining Star at Four
Ava G. is an amazing 4-year old that started Kumon when she was only 3-years-old. As she began Kumon, she was writing numbers. Now, she is performing at Level 2A, which is first grade level work. Keeping in mind Ava is only 4-years old, she can add up to 9 mentally without using her fingers or paper. Ava is working at two years above her grade level, and was ranked #18 in the nation in Math. Ava is also learning to swim and according to her parents, she is doing quite well.
Her mom struggled with Kumon early on because Ava was losing interest in her studies. However, after lots of encouragement and support from Mrs. Kumar, the parents decided to keep Ava involved in Kumon, which in hindsight was an excellent decision.
Nationally Ranked #1

William S. began Kumon when he was 3-years old. He has been in Kumon for almost four years and his work has astounded all that know him. He started the Math program with writing numbers 1 through 120 and currently he is in Level H, which is 8th grade math. William, at the very young age of 6, can simplify four variable linear equations, and solve functions and graphs. In addition to his academic skills, he also takes piano lessons and computer programming classes at the University of Texas at Dallas. Within the first year in Kumon, William was ranked #1 in the nation in both Math and Reading. William repeated this outstanding achievement again in 2017 by being ranked #1 the nation in both Math and Reading. We are very excited to see what William achieves as he continues his Kumon journey.
Participation in Kumon is a family tradition in this high achieving family. William is a second-generation Kumon student. His mom, Alysssa, was a Kumon student in Japan and knows the benefits of this model of learning.
