Eileen's Journey So Far
Eileen is an energetic and fast-thinking kid. As parents, we noticed that she likes challenging higher grades math at a very early age. She started Kumon when she was 3 years and 9 months. She quickly grasped the basics of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The unique training materials help her go through this process rather easily. The Kumon Program helped establish a habit of completing Kumon homework every single day when she is back from school.
Eileen feels like she is playing a game when she is doing Kumon math and always feels she will be rewarded by doing more and better.
She has also greatly benefited from the Kumon Reading Program. Kumon materials are gradual and steadily get more and more difficult. That helped her to be able to read independently at age 5. As an example, she finished the entire series of The Magic Tree House before she turned 6. The difficult levels of Kumon reading were the stepping stones for her to reach this level.
We feel that the best thing about Kumon is that it will help you to have a study habit. It always reminds you that, as a student, you need to keep working and reaching higher level.
One of Eileen’s dream jobs is to become a Kumon Instructor. Learning at Kumon encourages her to teach others. She is helping her teacher at school in the class too. Sometimes, in group study, she helps others with spelling or solving math problems.
Nikitha just loves Kumon
My name is Nikitha and I just Love Kumon. I am currently in Grade 5, but I am pursuing the Kumon Math Program at Level H. The concepts taught at this level are comparable to those in Grades 8/9 of the school curriculum. This greatly benefits me in school, as I can effortlessly solve the math challenges that my teacher assigns me. I am so very thankful for the Kumon Program and my Instructor.
In reading, I am currently on level L, equivalent to 12th-grade English. Kumon has helped me develop an interest in literary texts and encouraged me to apply for Honors English in middle school.
One of my favorite characteristics about Kumon, both in reading and math, is that it builds my confidence by giving me repetition in the key topics. This way, I truly learn the actual concepts.
A smart kid named Oskar
Oscar is 13 years old and has been enrolled in the Kumon program for 6 years. He is currently in Grade 8, pursuing the Kumon Math Program at Level J. Oskar is also a Reading Program completer. While his classmates are just learning about polynomials and how to factorize them, thanks to Kumon, Oskar already knows how to solve advanced level quadratic equations and how to divide polynomials. He knows how to solve advanced literacy problems and is fluent with vocabulary concepts that his peers are unaware of.
Oskar loves the fact that he is able to study above his grade level. Because of this, he knows what to expect when he will go to high school. Kumon helps Oskar to get good grades. He always does well in math and reading in school. Kumon has helped him understand math and reading concepts easily. It has helped him build the confidence it take to strive to do more and what no many students of his age can do. Kumon is really the place where smart kids get even smarter and for that, we will always be grateful.
