About the Instructor

Introduction

Welcome to the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Wyckoff, NJ. My name is Mr. Tony Kim and I have been a Kumon Instructor for 15 Years. Throughout this time, I have greatly enjoyed seeing the growth of my students. Not only have they grown academically, but they have also developed valuable life skills.

In addition to my experience at the Center, I previously worked in IT for a year. Following this, I was employed as a Kumon grader, then later as the Kumon Head assistant at a Kumon Center for 13 years.

Furthermore, I am not only a Kumon Instructor, I learned using worksheets written by my father similar to the Kumon Method. In 5th grade, starting with multiplication tables I took a break then from 6-8 grade I learned up to Trigonometry My brother also took the Kumon Program while I started as a Kumon Grader.

As a result, I believe strongly in the Kumon Method, which led me down the path to becoming an Instructor. It is my sincere hope that, during my tenure as an Instructor, I am able to bring the amazing benefits of Kumon to as many families as possible. My goal is to build a strong foundation for self-learning so that my students will always feel empowered and capable of success on their own. As an Instructor, it is my goal to help your child advance and pursue his/her potential.

Biography and Background

Thank you for your interest in Kumon.

My name is Tony Kim and I have been a certified Instructor at Kumon of Wyckoff since 2005. Prior to opening my own Kumon center, I worked as an Assistant for 15 years at various Kumon centers including: Fort Lee, Dumont, Midland Park, Bergenfield and in Orange, NY. Watching students grow is one of my greatest joys.

I believe in the Kumon Method because in 5th grade, I had not memorized my multiplication tables and used the unique worksheets to improve my math skills. I was amazed how the Kumon Method enabled me to self-learn Trigonometry. My motivation and dedication to self-study, inspired me to attend Stuyvesant and Fort Lee High School. After graduation, I won a full scholarship to Rutgers University.

I look forward to helping students gain a solid foundation in Math/Reading that will allow them to pursue any path in life. In addition to my passion for education, I enjoy playing board games, learning new software programs, LARP, and using 3-D printing for toys/mechanical parts.
