About the Center

Introduction

Thank you for visiting the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Westminster which is instructed by Shannon McCaffery. At Kumon of Westminster, we provide a center that is supportive and encouraging. It is our top priority that each Kumon student develops self-confidence in his/her abilities. Understanding that each child learns differently, the Kumon program can be individualized to meet the unique learning needs of all students.

Location Details:
We are located in the Willow Run Shopping Center at the corner of Zuni & 128th Street in Westminster. The Kumon Center is between the Subway and the Dry Cleaner. We are conveniently located close to many Broomfield and Westminster communities, including McKay Landing, The Broadlands, and Harmony Park.

More About Kumon
For more than 50 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program, click here.

Policies

A detailed set of Kumon Center policies is provided during the orientation prior to enrollment. The basic policies include:

  • Classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30pm-6:30pm. Students are expected to attend class both days, unless prior arrangements have been made.

  • Homework is assigned on each student's "just right" level and should be completed, graded, times, and corrected daily.

  • Successful progress in Kumon requires active parental supervision of daily work. Setting the right study environment, providing positive encouragement, and regularly observing the student will maximize your return on investment.

  • Regular communications between parents and the instructor is expected. Parent conferences are scheduled at the time of enrollment. Conferences are also held the last two weeks of every quarter.

  • Student independence and self-learning are core principles of the Kumon Methods of Learninng which involves individualized study, not one-on-one tutoring.
