About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Mrs. Nadia Shamim graduated from DePaul University with a Masters in Elementary Education in 2011.  She has taught in Chicago Public Schools, Morton Grove, and schools throughout Wilmette as a mathematics, science, and writing teacher at the third, fourth, and middle school levels.  While teaching in Morton Grove, she was an assistant at the Kumon of Glenview and fell in love with the Kumon method.  She was impressed with the excelled growth that Kumon students made, and their focus, which brought great confidence in academics and all other aspects of their lives as well.  Nadia is passionate about working with children and watching them discover their maximum potential.

The Kumon family is incredibly supportive and there truly is a team of people supporting your child.  We aim to reach as many students as possible while making students and parents feel truly cared for and listened to. Please join us as our center becomes an integral part of the community.
