About the Instructor

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

My goal is to enable every child to perform and progress to his full potential.

Biography and Background

I can appreciate the benefits of the Kumon programs both from an instructor's point of view and from a Kumon parent's point of view.  Both of my children were enrolled in the math program as well as the reading program over a span of more than 10 years.  My experience as a Kumon parent has been instrumental in helping other Kumon parents understand the dedication required from all three parties - student, parent, and instructor - to help students reach their full potential.

Training and Certification

After earning my Bachelor of Arts degree and Teacher Training Designation from the University of British Columbia, I taught in the Abbotsford School District for several years before becoming a Kumon instructor in 1992.
