About the Instructor

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. My staff and I are dedicated to creating a positive learning environment for every student. I will create an individualized study plan for each student to ensure they develop the skills to achieve both in and out of the classroom. Whatever their current academic level or abilities, your children will begin at a comfortable starting point and advance at their own pace. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

I live in Bloomington with my wife, Erin, and our two children. My son and daughter are both attending Heartland Community College. My son, Brady, is completing the EMT program. My daughter, Tessa, is a freshman and plans to study Radiography. I attended Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL and later graduated from Illinois State University. I was recognized on the Dean’s List at both colleges and received a bachelor’s degree in Education from Illinois State University. Prior to working at Kumon, I taught at Central Elementary School in Lincoln, IL. I have been with the Kumon Center of Bloomington since 2001, and took ownership of Kumon of Bloomington in 2009. I am actively involved in the community and local charities, enjoy golfing and being outdoors, and I am an avid sports fan.
