About the Instructor

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Welcome to Kumon of Boynton Beach - Central! My name is Miss Tia and I am this center’s Instructor. I have been helping children reach their potential for over 15 years and marvel each day at the progress they make.

A job transfer from NJ brought me to the Sunshine State in 1996 and South Florida became my new home. I established myself in my church as a singer in the music ministry and in my community as a Board member. In 2004, I took a leap of faith and decided to change career paths. My 20 year background in finance taught me the importance of mathematics; while working with clients administratively taught me the importance of verbal and written communication. The love of teaching young children while still utilizing the Bachelor's Degree I earned in Business Administration ultimately led me to opening my center in 2005.
