About the Instructor

Introduction

Mandeep Khurana

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

My own children have benefited enormously from the Kumon program and have thus excelled in the academic field. This made me realize the value of the Kumon program and how great it would be to avail this program to other children. This awareness made me think about becoming a Kumon Instructor. I enjoy the challenge of working with children of all ages. It's exciting to see them grow and progress and witness thec onfidence that they show as they master each new skill.

As a Kumon Instructor, I receive ongoing training to help me instruct the children so they can truly benefit from the program.  This ongoing professional development focuses on children's stages of growth, worksheet development and changes, centre management as well as a myriad of other things that I need to know to run an effective Kumon Math and Reading Program.

I have always been passionate about education. Having completed my Masters in Computer Science and working as a programmer for 5 years, I always longed to make a change in society. During my son's school education, after trying different supplemental programs for him, I came across Kumon. Within a couple of months of enrollment, I noticed a change in his academics. He started excelling in school. From B's and C's, he became a straight A student. This change in him kindled the flame in me to become a Kumon instructor.

I have been a Kumon instructor for 4 years now and have enjoyed every moment of it. The faith of parents in me and the affection in the eyes of the children keep me motivated. It gives me a feeling of overwhelming satisfaction when parents share with me their children's achievements in school after joining Kumon.  I enjoy the challenge of working with children of all ages. It's exciting to see them grow and progress and witness the confidence that they show as they master each new skill.

I believe every day is a new learning challenge. I am still learning in life and am thankful to Kumon and the parents of my students, for giving me this opportunity to share my knowledge with so many children who are the future of our society. I find great pride in building their future.

Training and Certification

Kumon Instructors are trained and certified through a comprehensive system which ensures that they offer the best in Kumon instruction to each student. Homework and class work are carefully assessed for speed and accuracy to maintain the right level of challenge and to ensure that mastery is attained as each new skill is introduced.
