About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Varsha Desai has been a Kumon mom since 2001 and a Kumon Instructor since 2002.

Varsha came across the Kumon Program when she enrolled her daughter in the Kumon Math Program. Varsha Desai earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Math and a technology degree in Biomedical Engineering. She was an adjunct instructor at Tulsa Community College, with their Math & Science division, prior to becoming a full-time Kumon Instructor.

Varsha passionately believes that all students can benefit from the Kumon Program, just as her own children have. Varsha Desai has over eighteen years of experience as an educator working in a variety of public and private settings with diverse student populations from 3 years old through high school. She has had extensive training at the Kumon offices in Atlanta, New Jersey, Dallas and many other cities throughout America.

Varsha Desai is extremely committed to the Kumon Method and embraces the philosophy of the program to give your child the best Kumon experience. She is a certified Kumon Instructor and a Kumon parent, which allows her to understand and integrate the different perspectives of a parent and instructor with her individualized lesson planning for your child. Varsha works very closely with each individual student and his or her family to create the best study plan possible for the student, whether the need is for remedial help or for advanced study. Her goal is to make each student not only excel in his/her academics at school, but also to develop self-learning, focus, and concentration skills.
