Instructor - Nita Modi
Thank you for your interest in the Kumon Math & Reading Centre of Cambridge South. It is my utmost pleasure to welcome you.
My academic journey began with Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Biotechnology degree from the University of Waterloo. During my undergraduate program, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for Biology and Chemistry courses. This inspired me to pursue my career in Cancer Biology. In 2007, I graduated with a Masters degree from the University of Waterloo. Since my graduation, I have worked with several Professors at the University of Waterloo as a Research Associate, Lab Manager and as a Quality Control Manager. In each of these positions, my role interacted greatly with undergraduate students in assisting them in various areas of study, and physically training them with laboratory techniques gradually built up my interest in the education field.
My encouragement and inspiration towards education is a vital importance to me and to my family. I then decided to pursue my career in education by opening my own Kumon Centre. As a mom of 2 Kumon Math & Reading program completers, I can say that Kumon was a major factor in developing my children’s work ethic and discipline. I am amazed by the progress, confidence and motivation they have gained by adapting and working with the Kumon Method. Through Kumon, students become more confident, independent and self-reliant people.
My decision to pursue a career in education led me to open my first Kumon Centre in Cambridge 9 years ago. I am excited to work with the families of Cambridge, by not only assisting and inspiring them to learn but also keep them motivated with the goal of achieving success on their own.
I want your child to gain the most knowledge possible from our after-school program and use its method effectively throughout his or her academic and professional career. I look forward to getting acquainted with you and working with your child in a most effective and professional manner. I want to follow the Kumon Mission by being a small part in developing a brighter community.
