Emma's Success Story

Kumon Student Emma

My name is Emma, and I am in eighth grade. I am currently enrolled in Kumon Math, Level J, and my ASHR level is 2 years ahead. I have been attending Kumon of Carmel for one year and five months, just before I started seventh grade. I have attended Kumon in other places, such as in Japan, and San Diego, California, beginning on Math, Level C.

I believe that Kumon is a wonderful learning experience where people of any age and any educational level can improve their skills in a subject. I enjoy how I have an instructor that can help me with any difficulties of my Kumon, especially as Kumon work packets become increasingly difficult. On the other hand, I also enjoy how Kumon can be a home-based activity where it allows me to learn without directly being taught, even after advancing beyond my school grade level. My main goal for Kumon is to finish the Math program before finishing my sophomore year of high school. This is so I can be more comfortable with, and well prepared for calculus and other difficult types of math. My advice for the new students who have recently started the program is to stay motivated, and continue to push yourself, no matter how difficult it may seem. All students have their own pace and should be proud of their accomplishments in this program - that matters the most.
