Anna's Success Story - 2023

Anna

My name is Anna Maasa Kleinkopf. I am 8 years old and I attend Kumon of Carmel. I am enrolled in both the Kumon Math and Reading program. I am excited to share that I am one year ahead in Math and two years ahead in Reading, studying above my school grade level. My journey with Kumon has been four long years, and I started with the most basic reading and math levels. I learned to read through Kumon, and I have not only become a strong reader but also a strong writer today. The reason I really love Kumon is because it teaches me materials above my level. Thanks to Kumon, I feel very smart and am capable of doing more difficult work than the rest of my schoolmates. I enjoy the program because it teaches me all sorts of cool things about math and reading. My advice to new students is to never give up and have a good attitude when working.

Charlotte's Success Story - 2023

charlotte

I am Charlotte Lawson and I’m 13 years old. Currently, I'm enrolled in both the Kumon Math and Kumon Reading Programs. My ASHR level is silver and I am studying one year over my grade level. I have been attending Kumon of Carmel since October of 2020. I started with a low starting point of AI in reading and 2A in math. Kumon means putting in my best effort to improve my math and reading skills. It provided me with the skills I needed through middle school and will also need through both high school and college. I enjoy seeing how far I have been able to go in the program and enjoy the fact that I am now past my grade level! This means that I have practiced, covered and mastered many new things in Kumon prior to learning them in school. This has helped boost my confidence.

My goal with the Kumon programs would be to finish the reading curriculum by freshman year in high school and complete the math as early as I possibly can. My advice for new students joining who have a low starting point would be to stay organized and stick with it because it will certainly help you in the future.

Raunav's Success Story - 2022

Raunav Kumon Student

My name is Raunav Sukumar and I am a student at Kumon of Carmel, CA. I have been with Kumon for the last two years. I am 9 years old and am currently a 4th grader. I am enrolled in both the Kumon Math and Reading Program. Kumon helps me with my school as well as advance quickly through new material. My teachers at Kumon are very helpful and they give me the right guidance to progress. My goal is to reach platinum or studying 3 years above grade level. I am currently studying 6th grade level materials (advanced 2 years above grade level). My advice to the kids who are starting at a low point is keep up the hard work and trust that it will pay off. You WILL achieve success and have fun along the way.

Emma's Success Story - 2022

Kumon Student Emma

My name is Emma, and I am in eighth grade. I am currently enrolled in Kumon Math, Level J, and my ASHR level is 2 years ahead. I have been attending Kumon of Carmel for one year and five months, just before I started seventh grade. I have attended Kumon in other places, such as Japan and San Diego, California, beginning on Math, Level C.

I believe that Kumon is a wonderful learning experience where people of any age and any educational level can improve their skills in a subject. I enjoy how I have an instructor that can help me with any difficulties with my Kumon, especially as Kumon work packets become increasingly difficult. On the other hand, I also enjoy how Kumon can be a home-based activity that allows me to learn without being directly taught, even after advancing beyond my school grade level. My main goal for Kumon is to finish the Math program before finishing my sophomore year of high school. This is so I can be more comfortable with, and well prepared for calculus and other difficult types of math. My advice for the new students who have recently started the program is to stay motivated and continue to push yourself, no matter how difficult it may seem. All students have their own pace and should be proud of their accomplishments in this program - that matters the most.
