About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Greetings All!

I have been a local Atlanta resident since 1972. As a local Chamblee / Doraville native, I have witnessed the area develop and grow into its present status. I am proud to be a part of that growth and to serve the community.

I am a Georgia State University graduate with a BBA in Marketing and CIS. My previous experiences include IT Management Consulting with Deloitte Consulting and Ernst & Young Consulting, Independent Small Business Consulting, NASDAQ Trader, Hi-Tech (Biometric) Startup Founder, and Real Estate Investor. I have a very broad range of experience.

So what brings me to education? (I'm asked that a lot) - My daughter.

I enrolled my daughter in Kumon in 2011 at 4 years old and have seen the results. Kumon enabled her to score high on the state Milestones tests which put her on the gifted status. She was able to enter the lottery for the local magnet school for high achievers (Kittredge), to  which she was accepted.

I considered opening a franchise business and realized:

  1. I was already familiar with Kumon
  2. It actually works - proven concept
  3. The brand has been around for 60 years
  4. I can actually give back to the community

So that was the start of my Kumon journey.
