About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Ms. Jacquie, Kumon Director
Instructor

My name is Jacquie Langworthy, and I am the Instructor for the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Crofton.

I am a native of Seattle Washington, who moved to Washington DC to obtain my Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Howard University.  I have a Master's in Leadership from Georgetown's McDonough School of Business. I left Accenture as an Executive to establish a consulting firm that provided training and change management solutions.  I have consulted for Prince George’s Public Schools and substituted for local private schools in the area.  I have always had a passion for teaching and training and I have been a mentor, tutor and role model for over 15 years. I was accepted into the Rosier School of Education Masters in Teaching Program at the University of Southern California but decided to combine my passion of education and business and open the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Crofton.

As a mother of two children, AJ and Juliah, I used the Kumon supplemental activities and our children loved it. After I researched the Kumon Program I enrolled my own children in the program and have seen it work wonders on their math and reading comprehension skills, academic confidence and study skills as well.  I was so impressed with the program that I trained to become a Kumon Instructor myself and opened my own Center.

I have been a Kumon Director for over seven years and cannot describe the joy that fills my heart each day I have an opportunity to help our students in the classroom and beyond! I look forward to meeting you and your child(ren).

With Gratitude,
Ms. Jacquie
