Success  Stories

Our students, ranging from preschool through 12th grade, develop the skills that help them build upon each concept they learn. With individualized learning plans, motivation and practice, our center prepares students to become avid learners, encouraging success throughout their entire academic experience and beyond.

It's never too early to think about college!

Girls at Carolines Graduation

Caroline is a dual-program completer from my center.  She is currently in her final year of college.  My daughter Caroline is a "bright but lazy" student.  (I can say that as her mother!).  Caroline completed the Kumon Math Program during her senior year in high school.  She used to complain that no one taught her in Kumon and that she had to learn the material on her own from the examples in the worksheets.  I completely agreed with her!  We were always there to help and to guide, but she was right: we did not TEACH her calculus.  She had to learn concepts in Level N & O on her own.  Once Caroline arrived at college, she tested out of the first year of Calculus and took Calc 2 as a freshman.  She complained that the professor was difficult to understand and she had to learn most of the topics from the examples in her text book.  Hmmm....sounds a lot like the Kumon Method!  The good news is that Caroline has developed self-learning skills and confidence in Kumon and was able to apply those skills in college.  She finished the class with an A and the knowledge that she can succeed in college and beyond!

Alison - the perfectionist

Alison Kruse

Alison is the child who was afraid to raise her hand in class in case her answer might be wrong.   She was afraid of making mistakes and looking bad in front of her classmates & teacher.  When she did make mistakes, she would erase so hard there would be holes in her homework paper.

Kumon has allowed Alison to learn topics in reading and ESPECIALLY MATH before she is exposed to them in school, so that she is confident about knowing the concepts and how to tackle them.  This has made homework time less stressful and test-taking in school easier.  We have learned that Kumon is a risk-free environment and that it is OKAY to make mistakes.  Alison is in high school now and taking honors classes with confidence. Alison has completed the Reading Program and on track to complete the Math Program and stay one step ahead in school.

Our Success Story

Welcome to Kumon of Doylestown/New Britain!

If you are not familiar with Kumon yet, you will soon learn we believe every child can achieve success and our goal is to help every child reach their own potential. This is one of the many reasons I am so excited to be running a Kumon Center. At Kumon, we work to build confidence and develop skills in the fundamental building blocks of math and reading. We believe that every child has the potential to learn far beyond our expectations. It is the job of our Kumon Center to encourage each individual child to want to learn, to enjoy learning, and to be capable of studying successfully in the future.
