Certified Instructor/Owner: Sam Song
My name is Sam Song, and I am the franchise owner and Kumon Certified Lead Instructor.
Since 2001, our center has helped thousands of students in our region. I have been very fortunate to work with and learn from the previous Instructor, Bruce Fitterer, since December of 2018. After completing a series of rigorous trainings pre-COVID in San Francisco, New Jersey, and Seattle, I have since been truly enjoying the journey of working with students and helping them become a confident person.
Educated in both the U.S. and overseas, I was a teacher before I moved to the U.S. and became a proud citizen. Education and mentoring young people have always been my passion. Like most Kumon Instructors, my background is multi-faceted, running the gamut from directing the operations of Riverfront Park, to my involvement at Spokane International Academy and careers at City of Spokane and Family Impact Network, a regional non-profit serving families in 20 Eastern Washington counties. Partnering with many community stakeholders like Visit Spokane and Parks Foundation, I was instrumental in bringing the Chinese Lantern Festival to Spokane in 2015. One night, I heard a young boy shouting out to his mom after the performance “Mom, mom, this is the happiest night in my life”. I was moved and realized that what fulfills me the most is the impact that I can make on children’s lives.
Kumon provides me the perfect stage to do so. Its philosophy and methodology resonate deeply with my lifelong learning journey. Like your child, my daughter is also a Kumon student, therefore I can relate to your concerns as a parent.
I would love the opportunity to partner with you on the journey to success for your children's learning. Please stop by for a visit or call us at 509-532-8660.
