About the Instructor

Introduction

My name is Kenneth Wong, instructor for Kumon of Edmonton-Chappelle. As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Instructor

Prior to being a Kumon Instructor, I was in the science research field at the University of Alberta for 17 years after obtaining both my Bachelor and Master of Science degrees. I have a strong interest in math, science, and English language arts. In addition to my training at Kumon, I also have over 5 years of experience as a math tutor. Leisurely, I enjoy hiking and camping in the summer and skating and tobogganing in the winter with my family. I particularly enjoy reading and doing math homework with my 2 children. I am excited to be a Kumon Instructor because I strongly believe in the Kumon Method and Program. I look forward to being able to instruct, interact, and also learn from children.
