About the Instructor

Introduction

Your Instructor - Carol Balsillie

I attended extensive Kumon training in New Jersey to become a certified professional instructor. I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments.  The Kumon Method has helped many students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I am a lifelong learner and I have a true passion for education and a desire to help children succeed. I look forward to helping your child succeed!

Biography and Background

Your Instructor Carol Balsillie
Instructor

I opened the Elmira Kumon Centre in September 2019 and it has certainly been a learning curve with many paths. The routines have now settled down and I can't wait to meet you and your children.

I taught in Toronto for 15 years before moving to Kitchener to raise my family. I continued to teach online and also helped families with their health and wellness. Once I decided to open a Kumon Centre, I started the training and decided Elmira was the perfect place to offer this service to families.

I have two girls, ages 20 and 15. You will see them in the centre doing their worksheets, organizing files for the other students, marking work and generally helping to run the centre.

I look forward to speaking with you and helping your children succeed with Math and Reading.
