About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, Mr. Oscar serves as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support, and encouragement. He creates an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and he emphasizes the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated period. This has helped many of his students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, Mr. Oscar has a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Marlene and Oscar

Mr. Oscar learned about the Kumon Program when his daughter Isabella joined a local Kumon Center in Frisco. He witnessed how Kumon helped his daughter with her school math. After a couple of years, Mr. Oscar applied to Kumon North America to become an Instructor. He received his certification as a Kumon Instructor in November 2009. In August 2010, Mr. Oscar opened his Kumon Center with the support and help of his wife, Mrs. Marlene. Now, with over twelve years of experience working with Kumon families in Frisco, he is excited to become your Kumon Instructor.

Training and Certification

Mr. Oscar became a Certified Kumon Math and Reading Instructor in November 2009.

As part of his commitment to excellence, Mr. Oscar attends continuing education courses on a regular basis, on topics ranging from Parent Communication to developing Early Learners and more.

Mr. Oscar has earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Lima in 
Peru, as well as an MS in Computer Science from Iona University in New Rochelle, NY.
