About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Center of Greenwood Village.  For more than 50 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program, click here.

Price and Fees

Our mission at Kumon is to bring the Kumon Method of Learning to as many students as possible, therefore, we keep our pricing reasonable for a wide range of parents and budgets. Our rates are significantly less expensive than private tutors or other types of tutoring programs in the area. Initial placement testing is free. Detail rates are provided at parent orientation.

Policies

  1. Students are expected to attend class 2 times a week at their scheduled time slots.

  2. Tuition is collected via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or by credit card on the 1st of each month. All fees are paid in advance and are non-refundable; 30-day notice is required for dis-enrollment.

  3. Whether you are an athlete, musician or Kumon math and reading student, daily practice is essential for success. Homework is assigned for each student at the just right level and should be completed, graded and corrected daily.

  4. Successful progress in Kumon requires parents' active involvement and supervision. Home-grading is an effective tool to ensure students learn from their mistakes and correct their mistakes when everything is still fresh in their mind. However, if parents are pressured with their time, students' homework will be graded in the center, and 100% corrections are required from all students.

  5. Regular communication between parents and the instructor is essential. To achieve the best results through the Kumon learning program, we encourage parents to routinely discuss their students' schedule and unique learning situation with the instructor. At the center, we hold an initial goal setting conference at the end of the student's first month, followed by regular spring and fall conferences to discuss student's progress goals.

  6. To make learning enjoyable and fun, we provide an incentive to each student for passing the achievement test at each level. Kumon North America also hosts a royalty program (points system) that allows students to exchange points earned with interesting prizes.
