About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Angela Chen

I graduated from Gonzaga University with a MA/TESL degree. Also, I have a BA in Arts / Music degree from Taiwan. I have been teaching piano and violin for over 18 years, I taught both private and group lessons from age 3 to adult.

I grew up in a Kumon family, my parents have been Kumon Instructors for more than 30 years in Taiwan. I am also a Kumon Math Program Completer. I was also a Kumon Parent for 2 years prior to becoming a Kumon Instructor.

Kumon is a long-term learning program, just like music and sports classes, that needs daily practice and lots of repetition.

I love the Kumon Method. It helped me a lot when I was learning at a young age. As I mentioned, I studied piano and viola, so I know how important practice and repetition is. I am looking forward to helping your child to be a successful self-learner.
