My name is JinMi Jung and I have taught for over 25 years as a certified public school math teacher in South Korea, after passing the national qualification exam for math teachers in public secondary schools. I want to share my knowledge and passion for mathematics and reading with your smart kids in my new KUMON center of Leawood.
I became familiar with Kumon when I was living in South Korea and have always been intrigued by how distinct the Kumon Method is. Kumon offers an individualized learning approach, which is why people all over the world love this program. While people come from different backgrounds culturally, the desire to receive an excellent education is a common bond that is shared on a global level.
The Kumon Method empowers preschool to high school-aged children to become self-learners and is designed to advance math and reading skills while fostering a love for learning. It goes beyond traditional tutoring by actively developing critical thinking skills as children progress independently through a carefully crafted curriculum. We recognize that each students’ approach to learning is different, and we provide them with the right tools to gain confidence and experience achievement. The confidence and achievement they experience will create an intrinsic motivation for students to want to grow. Having positive experiences in learning will encourage them to contribute to our society in the future. Kumon sparks critical thinking establishes a pattern of success and builds confidence that can lead to accelerated learning throughout life.
Aside from Kumon, I love to read, do arts and crafts such as origami, and spend time with my husband and two kids. My favorite quote is, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" by Lao Tzu. I'm happy to be on this journey with you in our center.
