About the Instructor

Welcome to the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Lilburn-West. My name is Khairunisa Merchant and I am a certified Kumon Instructor. By providing instruction through the Kumon Method, I am dedicated to developing sound, capable individuals who are able to independently carve out a path for themselves in life.

My role, as a Kumon Instructor, is to bring out the potential in each individual.

I began my Kumon Journey as a Kumon Parent. After enrolling my child in Kumon, I saw the difference it made in my child’s education. The Kumon Program not only developed my child academically, but helped to instill lifelong skills, such as confidence, independence, and concentration. As a result, I wanted to give more children in my community the opportunity to develop these skills and inspire in them a love of learning! Before I discovered my passion for Kumon, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and Arts. Because of my interest in medicine, I became a certified Medical Assistant and then a certified Pharmacy Technician through Georgia State University. I have always been pro-active in my community by serving kids of all ages, mentoring them in their religious education and guiding them to become our future ambassadors. It is this love of serving, teaching, and guiding our future generations that has driven me to take a different journey in life and become a certified Kumon Instructor.

I am an extensively trained and certified Kumon Instructor.  In order to serve the students in my center and my community, I continue to develop myself as a Kumon Instructor through participation in Kumon Worksheet Study Groups, Kumon Instructor Meetings, Kumon Intensive Study Courses, Kumon Instructor Conferences and Kumon Workshops. As a fully licensed Kumon Instructor, I have completed both the Math and Reading curricula and passed the Instructor Achievement Tests and use this knowledge to guide children through their work. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.
