About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, Mr. Li serves as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. He creates an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and he emphasizes the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of his students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, Mr. Li has a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Center Staff

Head Instructor: Li Wang

Growing up in a scholarly family, Mr. Li was accepted into Capital Normal University in Beijing, China as a Chemistry major.  Upon finishing his Bachelor of Science degree in Pulp and Paper Technology at North Carolina State University, Mr. Li was offered a full scholarship to enroll in the graduate program. He graduated with two Masters degrees in Paper Technology & Engineering and Computer Science.


When working with students, Mr. Li has a strong presence. His analytical mind is excellent at trouble shooting methodology for math of all levels. He understands that the way you get to an answer matters as much as getting the answer itself. He is quick to recognize and correct mistakes, and patient enough to help students do the same. Personable and strict, he encourages students to be responsible for their own learning.


With his strong background in math and science, as well as his 17 years of experience as an Instructor using the Kumon Method, Mr. Li is able to maximize the full benefit of the Kumon Program, helping each and every student excel. His manner of instruction not only promotes excellence in math, but also promotes critical skills of comprehension in reading among his students.   

 

Center Manager: Shirley Wang

Growing up in Korea and Taiwan, Shirley has a Bachelor's degree from the esteemed Journalism program of Taiwan's National Cheng-Chi University. Proficient in three languages, Shirley easily meets the needs of our multifaceted community. With her varied cultural and educational background, Shirley has developed strong communication skills, and her discipline, attention to detail, conscientiousness, and meticulous organizational skills make the center well known for its quiet, studious environment. Her full-disclosure attitude leads to a fount of communication between herself and parents, providing feedback on progress or limitations while simultaneously presenting solutions. She has a strict sense of responsibility, encouraging students to try their hardest and achieve their full potential. She trained beside Mr. Li in the Kumon program from the beginning and is serious, thorough, and disciplined when it comes to education, providing Kumon of Morrisville-Town Hall with a motivated and encouragingly-challenging atmosphere.
