About the Instructor

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

My name is Kavita, Director and Instructor at Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Newtown. As a certified instructor, I mentor children, providing guidance, support, and encouragement. I create at-home study plans, monitor assignments, and emphasize timely completion to boost self-confidence and independence. Originally from Gujarat, India, I earned a Master’s in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Michigan State University. After 15 years as a Licensed Engineer in Maryland and New Jersey, I pursued my passion for education by becoming a Kumon franchisee. I believe strong foundational learning empowers future problem solvers. At Kumon of Newtown, our mission is to provide accessible, high-quality after-school math and reading programs to serve our community.
