About the Instructor


Shoba Donti has been the Kumon Instructor at Kumon Math and Reading Center of North Andover since 2003. Using the Kumon Method which has helped many of her students increase self-confidence and become more self-reliant, she works closely with each student and his or her family to create the best study plan possible for the student. Prior to becoming a Kumon Instructor, she learned firsthand about the benefits of the Kumon Program when her daughter Priya and son Arun enrolled in the program.

Biography and Background

Ms. Shoba Donti

After graduating Suma Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a B.S. in Accounting, Ms. Shoba worked as the controller of accounts for Southwest Dining, a division of Sky Chefs (a division of American Airlines), while obtaining her CPA license. Prior to this, she graduated with a B.Com from Bangalore University and worked at a Chartered Accounting firm till she moved to the U.S. After 10 years in the corporate world, she chose to stay home and raise her two children, who are now Kumon graduates and independent adults.

Ms. Shoba has been trained and certified through a comprehensive system at Kumon University, which ensures that she offers the best Kumon instruction to each student. Homework and classwork are carefully assessed for speed and accuracy to maintain the right level of challenge, and to ensure that mastery is attained as each new skill is introduced. With the help of her trained staff, she oversees the progress of each student, and is there to help her students at every step of their Kumon journey.

Ms. Shoba continues to enhance her knowledge of the Kumon Program and student instruction by attending and participating in Instructor meetings, Instructor conferences, Worksheet Study groups, and online workshops. Her goal is to make the learning environment outstanding for all her students, irrespective of their ability or grade level.

When not working as a Kumon Instructor, Ms. Shoba enjoys volunteering, gardening, working out, and spending time with her family.
