Our center is quiet and studious, yet vibrant and energetic through the hard work of our staff and students. We know students love aspiring to reach all of their goals, should it be finishing a sticker map or reaching a Kumon grade level that is 2 years ahead of their school grade. Our goal is for all of our students to feel complemented on their hard work and daily effort, nurtured throughout their learning journey, and rewarded as they meet their many accomplishments. The following is a list of small and big incentives that students enjoy:
Students receive stickers at every center visit for all sets they have completed at home. They place these stickers on "maps" and "passports" that they receive from us at enrollment. It is fun for students to count the stickers that they have earned! When students completely fill their maps or passports, they can pick a prize from our prize basket.
Periodically, we hold special events such as a Summer Kick Off Day (dress-up and prize give away), a Choice Day (when students can pick their Kumon work, more difficult or easier than their current work), and a Bring-a-Friend to Kumon Day.
In the past, we have held 50-day reading challenges, 30-day 100% work challenges, and raffles for most continuous days without errors. We try to make our students enjoy learning, set some goals, and stay engaged.
All student programs and incentives are always optional, but most love participating!
Generally in the fall, our center holds an annual Progress Day. The Progress Day is an exciting day for all students because they are being rewarded for their hard work over the previous months and the summer. All students who study, without interruptions, for at least 12 consecutive months receive trophies, while students who have been in the program 6 to 12 months receive ribbons. All students enrolled for less than 6 months receive certificates. We hold a raffle for prizes and distribute special recognition awards for many students.
Program Completer Awards
It is not a small task to complete the requirements of the entire Math and/or Reading Program. It takes years of hard work, determination, unwavered commitment, and hundreds of hours of diligent studies. Students who successfully complete the Math or the Reading Program receive an engraved clock and a letter from the President of Kumon.
kumon+ is a loyalty program that rewards students for attending a Kumon Center. Think of it as a special club for Kumon Students - one that motivates them as they work through the Kumon program. Students earn points for every complete month they attend Kumon, plus bonus points for as long as they’re enrolled. These points can be traded in for exciting rewards. And if students are enrolled in our Math and Reading programs, they’ll earn points for both subjects. Every Kumon Student is a member of kumon+.Click here for more information on kumon+.
The Advanced Student Honor Roll recognizes Kumon students working ahead of their school grade level. Ambitious students remain in the program in order to stay above their grade level. These students study more challenging material than they are receiving at school in pursuit of their academic aspirations.
