About the Instructor

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Learning from the best students and empowering the other potential students to challenge themselves is a constant effort of mine.

As a Kumon parent myself, I have seen both sides of the program. My kids have given me a great opportunity to understand Kumon from the student's perspective - which has helped me to create better study plans.

Biography and Background

I was born and brought up in Southern India, and migrated to United States with my husband in 1995.

I graduated in Business and Commerce with a major in Mathematics. I can speak, read, and write in three different languages. My hobbies include gardening, floral arrangements, art, and reading interesting articles. My favorite TV channels are HGTV, Food Network, Discover, Animal Planet, History, and science channels.

After graduation, I started my first part-time job as a tutor in India helping out the local students with homework.

With great passion for teaching, I pursued my career as a Kumon Instructor in the land of opportunities. With 10 years experience as a Certified Kumon Instructor, I have developed my abilities to keenly analyze students' work skills. Ongoing trainings from Kumon and case studies with fellow instructors keep me motivated and further enhance my skills.

I work closely with students to understand their study patterns and thus create/modify the study plans to tailor to the needs of the student to fit the program. My strengths lie in studying students' abilities and creating a plan which can help them progress into higher levels and learn new concepts seamlessly.

Today, I can proudly announce that my kids benefited from Kumon and are reaching higher goals and successes in their academics. My daughter, Sneha Bhavanasi has been qualified for The National Merrit Scholarship, and my son, Saketh Bhavanasi is working on Calculus BC in his sophomore year.
