Angelina

Angelina

Angelina has just graduated from the second grade, and is enrolled in both math and reading at Kumon of Plantation South. In math, she is studying 3 years ahead of her grade level, and has mastered the addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions. Soon she will be simplifying and solving algebraic equations before she reaches middle school!

In reading, which is her favorite subject in school, Angelina is studying at a fourth grade level. She is able to analyze and fully understand information in complex sentences and paragraphs, which helps her to read upper level books. Angelina likes reading chapter books such as the Harry Potter collection and Jumanji.

One of the things that Angelina likes the most about Kumon is that she has gotten to learn many things that she has not yet been taught in school.

“In Kumon, I realized that reading was so much more,” says Angelina. “I know how much I’ve advanced and it gives me a lot of confidence because I worked so hard.”

Angelina is a bright ambitious student. Not only does she excel in academics, but she excels in extra-curricular activities as well. She is a high brown belt in Tai Kwon Do, she takes swimming lessons, she is learning Spanish, and she wants to study to be a veterinarian. Angelina loves all animals but if she could work on any animal, it would be elephants!

Angelina embodies everything that Toru Kumon had in mind when he founded the Kumon Method. He felt that students would experience the true benefits of the Kumon Method if they acquired the study habits necessary for self-learning and advanced study.

Ameya

Ameya

Ameya joined Kumon of Plantation South in July 2019. She will be in the 3rd grade this fall. Ameya is enrolled in math and studying 2 years ahead of her grade level! Currently she is adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.

Ameya has developed many skills that make her an exemplary Kumon student. She uses her comprehension skills to think through introductory problems and work independently. She has quick and accurate mental calculations skills. And she uses her corrections skills to find and correct her mistakes on her own.

For fun, Ameya enjoys arts and crafts, playing the keyboard and playing hide-and-go-seek with her little sister. Ameya can also solve the rubik's cube in 2 minutes!

Ameya is a kind and responsible student and a true pleasure to have in our center. Keep up the good work and we can’t wait to see how far you will go!
