Aneesh, 15 Years Old; Instructor, Sabrina Chan
Aneesh, of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, is a Kumon Reading Program completer. He studied with Instructor Sabrina Chan at the Glen Abbey Kumon Center. From participating in the Southern Ontario Model United Nations Assembly (SOMA) to volunteering at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, he’s always looking for ways to positively impact the community using his academic talents.
“I don’t just want to be good; I want to be great,” Aneesh explained. “I know that part of reaching that goal is more than simply monetary achievement. It’s about the positive difference one can make in the world.”
“It’s always inspiring to see a student take the skills he gained learning equations and sentence structure from the Kumon Program to the outside world,” said Sabrina. “Aneesh is a shining example of how education can inform, inspire and motivate an individual to make a difference.”
In addition to his interests in community involvement, Aneesh still makes time for his favorite sport – hockey. He is also an avid reader.
“I try to read 30 to 40 minutes a night, sometimes longer if my mom doesn’t tell me to go to sleep,” Aneesh said.
Aneesh is still unsure of what he would like to do after high school, but is excited and intrigued by the myriad of possibilities he can experience.
