If you’ve been to school any time within the last century and a half, chances are you’ve learned about pi.

Pi is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant—the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter—which is approximately 3.14159. Every year on March 14th, or 3/14, math lovers around the world celebrate Pi Day.

Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point, but only a handful of the digits are needed for typical calculations. Pi’s infinite nature makes it one of the most popular mathematical concepts. Remember our video of Kumon Students having fun reciting the digits?
