It\u2019s the study of astrophysics, which is a branch of astronomy concerned with the physical nature of stars and other celestial bodies, and the application of the laws and theories of physics to the interpretation of astronomical observations.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n<p>To put it simply, the goals of astrophysicists are to discover how the universe works, explore how it began and evolved, and search for life on planets around other stars.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n<p>This is a subject that Ahmed is absolutely fascinated by! In fact, he\u2019s so passionate about it that he participates every year in Science Olympiad, a nationwide science competition, and is developing a high level of math proficiency in the <a href=\"http:\/\/campaign.kumon.com\/math-program\/\" aria-label=\"Kumon Math Program\">Kumon Math Program<\/a>. He knows that he\u2019ll need those skills in order to become an astrophysicist. Back when I was in the first grade, I had trouble paying attention in school and wasn\u2019t really a top student like my friends. Then, I found Kumon. My learning improved so much and by the time I was in the second grade, I surpassed all of my friends! I\u2019ve been enrolled for seven years now and feel confident about everything I do.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n<h4><strong>What keeps you motivated in Kumon?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n<p>My dreams and my goals keep me motivated in Kumon. I have a passion for physics and astronomy and hope to become an astrophysicist someday. All of the math that they do is complicated so I know that I need to perform at a very high level in the subject in order to achieve that goal.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n<h4><strong>Why do you want to become an astrophysicist?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n<p>I think it\u2019s so fascinating that they get to measure planets, stars, nebulas and galaxies to figure out more about how we got here. I\u2019m intrigued by the thought of whether or not we are alone or if there is more life to explore.
