Sri Varshini, 10-years-old, Level H Math, Level FII Reading<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Sri Varshini is your typical bubbly and energetic 10-year-old girl. She\u2019s an active member of her local Girl Scouts\u2019 chapter, she loves to sing and dance, and even write her own stories and songs. What most people may not realize is that Sri Varshini is a fifth grader studying eighth grade level math material in Kumon.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

\u201cOne of the accomplishments I\u2019m most proud of is that I\u2019m a member of the National Elementary Honor Society<\/a>,\u201d said Sri Varshini. \u201cThey only accept students with grades in the 95th<\/sup> percentile and above and to me, that\u2019s a huge accomplishment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Because of her accomplishments in-and-out of the classroom, Sri Varshini was one of 56 students selected from thousands of applicants from the United States, Canada and Mexico to attend Kumon\u2019s 2018 Student Conference<\/a>. She talks about her journey with Kumon.<\/p>\n

What do you want to be when you grow up? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

I\u2019m really passionate about singing and like to write my own songs. I\u2019m thinking when I grow up, I want to either be a doctor, author or teacher.<\/p>\n

How has Kumon helped you in the classroom?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Kumon has really helped me become a better student. Because I make such good grades, I was invited to join the gifted and talented program at my school. I\u2019m also in the National Elementary Honor Society, which honors students in the 95th<\/sup> percentile and above.<\/p>\n

How has Kumon helped you beyond academics?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Kumon has increased my ability to be patient and think both critically and strategically. Most recently, my time management skills and concentration have improved in the classroom, but also in my personal activities. Kumon also taught me discipline in everything that I do.<\/p>\n

What keeps you motivated in Kumon?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

My motivation in Kumon is when I\u2019m feeling challenged. If at first I don\u2019t understand something, Kumon motivates me to take a step back, to think it through and to never give up. That\u2019s why I like that you make corrections in Kumon. In my opinion, if you don\u2019t make mistakes, you\u2019ll never learn. Whenever I get a problem wrong in Kumon, I\u2019m motivated to try and solve my mistakes instead of asking for help.<\/p>\n

What advice do you have for other Kumon Students?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

My advice for other students is to work hard and never give up.<\/p>\n
